FreshFX was chosen as implementation partner because of the required versatility to develop cross platform while thinking out of the box to connect different technologies. The Xbox platform was chosen for real-time scanning of the sandbox racecourse and obstacle detection. A powerful 2G 6 DOF (dimensions of freedom) motion seat was connected to a dedicated VR-Racing application. Finally, the entire VR-Game experience was migrated into mobile apps and social media marketing assets were created to complete the unique package.
The VR-Race experience created significant buzz when it was presented at shows and became a people magnet. As a side-effect it generated significant media coverage across all channels. It can now be booked as a standalone experience and is traveling the world with e.g. Formula-E.
The app has been downloaded over 300000 times, achieved a 4.5 star rating and led to a 50% conversion rate of users exploring further Audi offerings.
